
WOL AM 1450 is Washington’s exclusive African-American news/talk radio station. Cathy Hughes, founder of Radio One, and TV One is a radio and television executive who started the largest black radio network in the country more than 25 years ago.
Through the years, WOL has presented informative comprehensive overviews of news and events, which shape our daily lives. Locally and nationally known personalities host WOL, such as Joe Madison, Michael Eric Dyson, the Reverend Al Sharpton, 2 Live Stews and Bernie McCain. Interview guests have included Jesse Jackson, Eleanor Holmes Norton and Maya Angelou. WOL programs inform, educate and entertain its loyal adult listeners.
